Hi, I’m Sarah Yost. When I was a little girl I finished a book, now long forgotten, and complained that I didn’t want it to end. I wanted to keep living in that world. To which my mother responded, “Then write more yourself.” I thought this was the worst advice ever given. How could I enjoy writing about that world? I’d know what was going to happen. Then, I tried it. Many years and a Master’s in art history later, I have come back to my mother’s, now recognizably, wonderful advice. I write stories every chance I get. And it turns out, I don’t always know what will happen.
